About Our Church:

Occasionally I am asked, "What makes your church different from other churches?" I used to go into a lengthy explanation of the fact we are Bible believing, evangelical, interdenominational and very friendly, usually producing a "I'm sorry I asked" look on the unsuspecting person who dared to inquire in the first place.

These days I simply say, "We're a salad not a soup." You see, we are a gathering of followers of Jesus who represent many different flavors of faith and Christian perspectives.

Some have come from a place in life where they possessed little or no understanding of what it meant to be a follower of Jesus. Now they have experienced the life-changing Gospel and have discovered the enormous grace of God in their lives. These folks are now learning what it means to follow after Jesus and the incredible Gospel. They bring a wonderful flavor of freshness, vitality and discovery to our salad.

Others are folks who have known for many years what it is like and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Some have even served as ministers and are now enjoying years of retirement. These men and women season our salad with richness and wisdom...a perspective that can only come from years of service, study and proclamation of the Gospel message.

Still others come from years of following after Jesus as members of churches and denominations, but because of distance, expense, or other reasons they have found themselves separated from their church or denomination. They have found a home with us. These folks represent a variety of faith flavors that pretty much run the gamut of both high church and low church traditions...all the way from Catholic to Baptist as well as nondenominational.

When folks like this express a desire to become a part of our fellowship, we say to them, "Please don't leave behind your precious history and tradition; bring it in with you." Just imagine the wonderful flavors these folks bring to our salad. I guess you might say we're an

Episcobaptopresbycathametharene Church.

You see, we're a salad, not a soup.

We have discovered that as followers of Jesus, we share a lot more in common than we do in difference.

I want to invite you to come and taste our salad. Find out just what it is like. You know that piece that seems to be missing in your life? We just might help you find it. The gospel message you have only heard about? Why not hear it firsthand? Perhaps you, too, have become disenfranchised from your place of worship or denomination. You may just find a new home right here in Lake George with us!

I hope you accept my invitation. I will be looking for you.
